Lubricants

What is the difference between Gun Lube, EWL, and EWL30?

Gun Lube: A 10-weight lubricant made for casual or low-round-count shooters. Allows you to fire 1,000 rounds, field strip, and wipe it clean.

EWL: A 7-weight lubricant for tactical training and high-round-count shooters. Allows you to fire 4,000 rounds, field strip, and wipe it clean. EWL performs well in dusty environments and will not slow down in extreme cold.

EWL30: A 30-weight lubricant with the same properties as EWL but in a thicker formula. EWL30 is great for suppressed shooting and high-heat environments. It stays in place, making it ideal for firearms that are seldom used or in long-term storage.

Is Slip 2000 safe for rubber O-rings and seals?
Yes. Slip 2000 is 100% safe and will not attack rubber O-rings or seals. In some cases, it may even increase the lifespan of your rubber seals.

Does Slip 2000 contain petroleum, PTFE, or silicone?
No. Slip 2000 lubricants are 100% pure synthetic. Our products contain no oils, petroleum distillates, silicone, or PTFE.

What is the red seal inside the bottle cap for?
The red seal in our bottles prevents lubricant from leaking out if the bottle tips over. Do not throw away this seal. Simply remove the cap, poke a hole in the seal, and screw the cap back on.

Do Slip 2000 lubricants reduce the need for cleaners?
Yes. Slip 2000 lubricants treat all metal surfaces they come in contact with and prevent carbon and other buildup from sticking. This nearly eliminates the need for cleaners. Simply wipe off any residue after shooting and reapply lubricant.

Are Slip 2000 lubricants water-based?
No. Although all of our gun cleaners are water-based, our gun lubricants are not.

Are Slip 2000 lubricants safe for plastic and polymer gun parts?
Yes. All Slip 2000 lubricants are 100% compatible with plastics and polymers, including Glock and Kel-Tec parts.

Does EWG grease need to be heated to penetrate metal?
No, heating is not necessary for the EWG to penetrate into the metal.

Will EWG grease clean out old oils?
Yes. The grease will actually clean off and purge out any old oils.

What should I do if my EWG grease has separated?
If your EWG has separated, do not throw it out. Your tub of EWG is still good. Simply stir it until mixed.

Cleaners

What is the difference between 725 Gun Cleaner, Carbon Killer, and Choke Tube Cleaner?

725 Gun Cleaner/Degreaser: Our everyday gun cleaner for dirty parts.

Carbon Killer & Choke Tube Cleaner: Designed as a soak for neglected parts that would otherwise require scrubbing or extensive effort to clean.

Which cleaner should I use?

If you are using a Slip 2000 lubricant, shooting between 500-1,000 rounds, and cleaning regularly, then 725 Gun Cleaner should be all you need.

If you are not using a Slip 2000 lubricant, have neglected your firearms, or shoot a high volume of rounds, you may need Carbon Killer. It removes extreme carbon, lead, and plastic fouling buildup.

Does 725 Gun Cleaner remove oil and rust protection?
Yes. Any effective cleaner will strip most treatments and lubricants from metal surfaces. We strongly recommend treating all metal surfaces with a protectant/preservative after using ANY cleaner.

What is the difference between 725 Gun Cleaner and UltraClean?

725 Gun Cleaner was formulated to be sprayed on.

UltraClean is a modified version of 725, designed specifically for soaking parts in ultrasonic cleaners.

What is the difference between Choke Tube Cleaner and Carbon Killer?

Choke Tube Cleaner: Targets plastic fouling, common for shotgun users.

Carbon Killer: A stronger cleaner made to remove heavy carbon and lead fouling from automatic weapons.

Can I soak plastic, polymer, or rubber parts in Carbon Killer or Choke Tube Cleaner?
No. We do not recommend extended soaking of plastic, polymer, or rubber parts in these cleaners. Only use these cleaners on metal parts.

What kind of container should I use for Carbon Killer?
The original Carbon Killer container is ideal for small parts. If using a separate container, we recommend stainless steel trays or glass jars (like a mason jar). Some PET plastic containers are also safe, but avoid lower-quality plastic containers.

Can Carbon Killer be reused?
Yes. Carbon Killer can be used multiple times, but its effectiveness will slowly decline over time as it is exposed to air and contaminants.

How long should I soak parts in Carbon Killer?
Parts should be left in Carbon Killer for no more than 15 minutes at a time. Extended soaking may fade or remove bluing. If needed, soak for another 10-15 minutes after brushing off loosened residue.

Does using Slip 2000 lubricants reduce cleanup time?
Yes! Slip 2000 lubricants help prevent buildup from sticking to metal, reducing cleanup time by up to 50%.

What is the best way to use Carbon Killer?
Carbon Killer is best used for soaking heavily fouled internal steel parts (such as AR bolts, revolver cylinders, and firing pins). Pour it into a small steel or glass tray and fully immerse the parts.

What is the difference between 725 Gun Cleaner and Foaming Bore Cleaner?

725 Gun Cleaner: A simple cleaning spray.

Foaming Bore Cleaner: 725 with a foaming agent that increases dwell time and product effectiveness for bore cleaning.

Can Carbon Killer be used to clean suppressors?
Yes! Carbon Killer works great for cleaning suppressors. We warn not to soak your parts for more than 15 minutes, as prolonged exposure may damage certain finishes, but we have heard some have soaked their anodized parts for up to 48hrs with no impact on the finish.
